Starting January 2022 every weekend all over the world people celebrate the Thyagaraja Aradhana by offering tribute through congregational singing of the Thyagaraja Pancharatna Kritis. The current Paddhadhati or notational method of singing this in Thiruvaiyaru and other prominent places in the world, was laid down by Late Sri Semmangudi Sreenivasa Iyer and popularised by his disciple and my Guru, Late Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy. I will be teaching this very same paddhadati or method in the Intensive sessions.
In this intensive we will be delving deep into each kriti, with unique features of the kritis, splitting words right, notational beauties in the composition, word to word meanings etc. – for two days per kriti.
